Karaitiana Taiuru is an innovative Asia Pacific
experienced, commercially and community focused ICT professional.
He is also a pioneer of Maori Internet and Software technologies,
and an advocate for a multilingual Internet, and customized localizations.
Karaitiana resides on the ICANN NomCom and APRALO boards promoting
multilingulim, cultural representation and IDN's. He led the successful
submission for the creation of the worlds first indigenous 2nd Level
domain.maori.nz, and was responsible for the creation of the worlds
first Maori Usenet group, nz.soc.maori. Karaitiana is New Zealand's
first indigenous moderated 2nd Level domain moderator, .iwi.nz
A key lobbyist for the implementation of a bilingual Domain Name
System, and International Domain Names in New Zealand, as well as
the use of macrons in computer technologies.
Karaitiana Taiuru has been an advisor to the United Nations, NZ
government, several international and national boards as well as
many community groups.
